I truthfully don't follow your argument at all. It's not as though
Collabnet is the only company in the world that's allowed to make a
profit from Subversion. Anyone can do so. Go ahead and start your
own company. :-)

But for what it's worth: if Collabnet and its employees suddenly
vanished from the face of the earth, this project would keep going
strong. Subversion already works, and has a big community of
developers. It's way past the point of "depending" on Collabnet.
