At the same time, in isolation, it sounds "harsh" or "confrontational"
-- something I'm often accused of but (_almost_ never :-) intend.

So -- really, just trying to get down to what I think are really
important issues.

          This is a quite radical departure from our usual
          hack-and-test approach, but really, we've done enough damage
          that way..
