Okay. I had a bit of trouble finishing this off (silly red herring
had me debugging Apache of all things!), but tests are passing now.
Will commit up soon.

I will immediately follow that commit with the application of a patch
to convert svn_repos_dir_delta() to a new-style driver (and remove the
temporary wrapping ghudson just added). Another run of 'make check'
later, and we should be *really close* to having issue #737 completed.
