Feature Request: Give Nice error message when attemping to checkout overtop of existing local copy

Just a quick feature request.

When attempting to check out over top of an existing local copy,
subversion complains about version mis-matches. Instead, could it make
a nicer complaint like "Cannot Check out over existing local copy,
please update instead", or words to that effect?

(Yea yea, I know, "Doctor, Doctor, it hurts when I do this!" "Well,
don't do that!" ;)
