This is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure which
file needed changing (grepping for 'timeout' brought
up a lot of files).

If this doesn't work for some reason, I'll try the
partial checkout workaround.

Do you think it would be useful to make the timeout an
option (if possible)? I think even if the server
improves its response, there will still be situations
that'll cause a timeout no matter what default is
given.
