hi all,
my name's brian. for the past two years (basically my entire
professional experience) i've been working as a web-application
developer for an educational nonprofit. i'm the de-facto CVS admin
at my workplace, so i'm familiar enough with it to be both very
happy it exists, and very frustrated with it at the same time.
last week i was inspired to look for alternatives and came across
subversion.
depending on how much time i have, i'd love to contribute. i don't
have much C experience, so i don't know how helpful i'll be in terms
of patches... but OTOH i do enjoy a challenge, so i may yet try to
pick an easy bite-sized task and chew. if i ask too many stupid
questions or am otherwise more trouble than i'm worth, feel free to
let me know. :) in any case, i plan to use subversion for personal
projects -- and possibly for work projects as well -- and will report
any bugs that i find.
one other thing, off-topic: i'm looking for experienced developers who
would be interested in answering a few questions for my own edification,
a "how did you get to where you are as a software developer" type of
thing. if you are interested, e-mail me off-list.
regards,
brian
