Versioning of archive files (Open Office files)

Hi!

Is it possible to not handle archive files (like zip files) like binary
files? These files may contain text files which can be versioned ordinarily
so theoretically it should be no problem for cvs/subversion to open the
archive diff it, save it and the archive it again when checked out again?

This could ie. be usefull for versioning OpenOffice files which are a
package of xml-files saved in an archive file.
I suppose this could be a big advantage to OpenOffice if these file could be
versioned like text file so that you can see what is changed and not only
the fact that is has beed changed (as with binary files).
