This is reproducible with HEAD in Unixland, too. Here's the weird
thing, though: if I run `svn up' in gdb, and take my time stepping
through the code, I *don't* get the error. However, if I run `svn up'
in gdb with no breakpoints, or if I run it outside of gdb, I get the
error.

Joe Orton? Got any ideas?
