svn-config errors

When I run svn-config on my box I get the following error:

% ./svn-config
./svn-config: abs_builddir: command not found
./svn-config: abs_srcdir: command not found
Usage: svn-config [OPTION]

I'm using RedHat 7.3 with

autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.52d
automake (GNU automake) 1.5
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4.2 (1.922.2.53 2001/09/11 03:18:52)
