It's working on my home box now (Debian GNU/Linux), yay! Thanks.

I'll see what the results are on my work box (RedHat) later. Haven't
tried it there since your changes above.

Heh. That's keyword and eol translation. You want utf8_tests.py,
which is still in progress, but I think already does something useful.
