By `ssl', do you mean "https://", or do you mean tunnelling http over
ssh -L or something similar? Or both?

Obviously the latter method would circumvent a proxy that allows ssh
traffic but prohibits http. I'm not sure how proxies tend to react to
the former, though. Perhaps you have more experience...?

Meanwhile, I'll commit some changes to the FAQ, but feel free to
advise further changes...
