Btw, I rememberd another (minor) issue with the patch. svnadmin and
svnlook both print the size of log messages in octets. Since I did
not understand the indented use of this figure, I did not know wheter
to print the number of octets for the UTF-8 representation or for the
native character encoding representation (neither of which equals the
number of characters in the message). I decided to print the number
of octets in the UTF-8 representation, since it is invariant.
