Updating docs, WAS: RE: HEAD problems with Apache, and a request for changing the build instructions

Exactly ;) Also HEAD is likely to contain bugfixes for problems encountered
in a tarball, as we only (tag and) roll on milestones.

Ok, got my sleep :)

I now would like to know what the common problem is people run into.
From what I heard it is old installed stuff on their systems. Or stale
stuff in their build dirs(?).

If I get some feedback on this I can update the docs to say that one
should clean up all old installed versions of apr/apr-util/ etc.
And maybe suggest to run make clean.

Feedback please.
