If the system in question has previously had svn installed, you might
find it helpful to review tools/dev/prebuild-cleanup.sh (so you
understand what it does) and run it as root prior to running ./configure
-- this cleans out the shared libraries.

For his own sanity (I guess?), Sander used his knowledge of my love for
bananas to bribe me into doing a full bootstrap, including server, which
I am doing now. When I talked to you on IRC, I didn't initially realise
you were the same person whom I previously identified as being
completely unable to follow instructions.
