Yes. I'd have to work hard to misrepresent diff's current behavior
more than in that mail. :-)

Anyway, I think Greg Hudson's comment about avoiding gratuitous
incompatibility with CVS is good, too. If we can find a way to
optimize the common (REV-1):REV case without being incompatible, that
would be best.

Maybe

   $ svn diff -r -:1598

or something? I know it seems faintly silly to have a shortcut for
subtracting 1, but having a small, predictable number of keystrokes
every time can be a great help.
