For the record, my support for "Config in registry" was short form for
"Config in registry over .INI files"
If we're talking Registry vs. a subversion XML configuration file, I lean
more towards XML. This is primarily because the registry forces a little
structure to the config data, and makes it harder to miss nagging little
dependencies, which in turn makes it easier to avoid RTFM, which lets one
get more things done in the available time.

As for editors, the probability that someone will produce a nice free XML
file editor that automagically provides the easy configuration UI we all
want has to be somewhere around 98%. The odds of that happening for .INI
files is much lower... someone will have to write a Subversion-specific one.
