I just happened to notice the chrpath package when upgrading my Debian
box. It's available in sid, or at:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/chrpath

chrpath's README also mentions elfhack, available at:
http://wwwhome.cs.utwente.nl/~klaren/software

I have tried neither of them, YMMV, etc, etc.
