I appreciate all the help. It appears several people on the list have
conjectures about the memory consumptions issues. I have a data set for
3 full time programmers for several years in my CVS tree and I will be
happy to crunch through and release any size related information for the
patches if you want before and after comparisions of any information
(speed/memory/disk space) you want with various versions of svn please
let me know I will happily post the information back to the list.
If you want something that is more publicly available, I could use the
Linux Kernel source (I have a local repository of all the 2.4 and 2.5
release and pre-release versions), or the source of a smaller project.
The upside of that is it is publicly testable/repeatible, but less "real
world CVS user" data.
I haven't gotten the Apache server setup to do network check in/outs just
yet. I only have local access, but that is only a matter of not having
enough time. I hope to play with that in the next several weeks. Let
me know, I want to help and this seems the easiest/best way to
contribute time if it would be helpful.
I will post my current memory issues to the bug tracker once I get an
accurate capture of the information.
Thanks,
Kirby
