Yeah, I like Greg's solution a bit better. (Thanks Bruce for taking
this on, though!)

Note that the idea was not that autogen.sh documents the requirements,
but that when you run it it *tells* you what you need to get and where
to get it from. Still no substitute for an up-front human-readable
list of reqs, though.
