Mid December 2001, but that's not relevant, the problem doesn't lie
with apache :-) I don't expect apache to use the db4 from
/usr/local/subversion/lib, at least, not unless I tell it to.

I was merely pointing out that the claim "There are no known interop
issues with Apache, even when httpd is using a ... different release
of Berkeley" is not correct.
