Curious

I was pointed to your project as something very cool by a core BSD developer.

I figured I'd mention something I *tried* to do with CVS.

   - enforce a file naming convention like case independence and
no-spaces and wanted the client user to be notified at
"cvs add" time not just at "cvs commit" time.

Thoughts for the future, every project I have run in the past 15 years has
been a complex aglomeration of assets, image files, movies, datasets, 3d
models, photoshop files, etc, as well as text files. CVS was great for
text but what I dreamed of was a delta tracking comprehensive networked
digital asset management permission administration and backup system. One
that could evolve to where tool vendors could provide plugins for the
system to manage their own file types (differs delta mergers etc)

Has anyone in this group been taking this large view on the future
evolution of these things beyond text based source control?

I just figured I'd throw these thoughts in the hopper.
