The exact error messages I and Sander are seeing look like this:

apr_error: #20014, src_err 0 : <Error string not specified yet>
  could not checkout a file

apr_error: #20014, src_err 0 : <Error string not specified yet>
  Could not read status line: connection was closed by server.

They're originating from neon/src/ne_request.c and libsvn_ra_dav/fetch.c,
respectively.

Now, I can repeat this. The last four attempts I've done all halted on the
very same file.

If I enable the neon debug messages, where do thet go? Would they help?
