I'm a lurker with a comment on the svnignore issue. This may be
redundant, but:

I'm using MacOS X. The Finder adds '.DS_Store' files to each directory
it opens. It would be nice to have system-specific svnignore functionality
instead of just the svnignore properites on individual directories. i.e. a
'.svnignore' file (or .svnrc entry) in the user's home directory is
appended to the appropriate property each time the property is checked.
Then I only need to tell svn to ignore '.DS_Store' in one place, and noone
else has to bother with this MacOS X specific ignore.
