A summary of the Ben/Karl position:

  * 'svn st' shows only local mods (no network access)

  * 'svn st -u' shows local mods and *adds* network info as well.

  * 'svn st -v' shows all entries (no network access).

Here's what's different from my earlier summary, which Karl and I are
now advocating:

  1. the -v flag does *not* imply the -u flag; they are independent.
(It's reasonable to think that somebody may want to know exactly
what is under revision control -- without bugging the network.)

  2. we really want a single output format. (see Karl's previous mail)
