is a password required for the subversion repository?

Hi

I have built and installed the M3 tarball as per
http://subversion.tigris.org/project_source.html

When I try to check-out a current version of the code I get asked for
a username/password. There is no mention of a password on the above
page; I have tried various combinations of guest/svn and nothing, but
all give the same error:

$ svn co http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn
Username: svn
Password:

apr_error: #20014, src_err 0 : <Error string not specified yet>
  The OPTIONS response did not include the requested activity-collection-set.
