I dislike invisible files as a rule, although CVS has .cvsignore and I
guess that hasn't bothered me too much. I wonder about renaming the
directories just to avoid a conflict with the SVN binary. It seems that
building the binary as 'svn-preinstall' or something would be a much
better choice. (This isn't $(programsuffix); it's just a preinstall name.)
