For reasons that are irrelevant and boring, I no longer subscribe
to the subversion dev mailing list. However, I am still a very
active and interested lurker. I read the mailing list archive
2-3 times per week.
Prior to the tigris upgrade, this was a pleasant process. But now
the messages are sorted in ascending order by date. It requires
several clicks to find the most recent stuff. I usually just hand-edit
the URL. :-)
It would be *so* cool if, when I clicked on the archive link
for May 2001, it showed me the messages in reverse order.
I know that 'gripes' from a non-contributor don't get assigned
much weight. But just in case somebody there values this kind
of information, I wanted you to know: Somebody who cares about
your project is finding tigris to be a less-than-effective way
to monitor it. In my own experiences on open source projects of
this kind, I have found obstacles like this to be worth removing.
Cheers,
