I don't see how that is important for the code. For the user, maybe.

I just don't understand why you need to know where the repository begins in
the following URL:

    http://svn.webdav.org/projects/mod_dav/

There are three points where it could be. Why do you care? You care that you
can check out mod_dav. What more is needed? :-)
