I'd been expecting to put off dealing with copy nodes until we've got
the simpler filesystem structure working. I don't see that it's
critical to add them now, and it complicates Karl's work on the
dag-based editor.

Karl, if we introduce copy nodes, they will be visible through the dag
interface, so your editor will need to deal with them.
