As requested on the project website, I am introducing myself.
I'm a programmer with 20 years' experience and have spent the past few
years specialising in software configuration management -- creating
automated build systems and administering source trees for several
large inter-related projects under CVS. I am currently taking a
complete break from my normal line of work, to serve as Agent to a
Member of Parliament (I'm in the UK, in case this isn't obvious) and
will be doing that full-time for the next several months, after which
I'll have a hard think about where my career is going next. Where I
_think_ it's going is back into the software industry, but probably not
as a permanent employee. Maybe as a contractor or consultant coming in
to sort out people's source-control problems?
Subversion looks like a really interesting project and I want to learn
about it, both because it's interesting and because I think it would be
useful for me, but I'm not going to have any time to contribute until
the middle of the year at least. I hope you don't mind me lurking in
the meantime.
