Actually, no, it's exactly the right thing to do. I'm working with a
company who's struggling in the opposite direction - putting all the
informal communication between developers that goes on in person (in
another language!) onto electronic form so it can be archived, searched,
and expanded to the rest of the development team. You can't underestimate
the value to the rest of the developer community by working this way.
