tigris.org has a site-wide search feature that is accessed by the
"Search" button on the left edge of every page. This search include
all documents on the site, including all mailing list archives.

The engine is swish-e. It supports logical operations AND and OR. But
the format of its results is very bad. Mhonarc and swish-e both have
their shortcomings. That is for sure!

The eyebrowse project (eyebrowse.tigris.org) tries to solve the
problems for mailing lists. I encourage everyone to check it out.

Look for it to be the archiving solution used on tigris.org as part of
a big site upgrade in the coming months.
jason!
