The ASF is consulting a lawyer as we speak. The question at hand is whether
we would have problems placing SSL code into the mainline distribution. The
general presumption is "no problem", but we are getting legal counsel first.

Of course, there are a number of SSL versions of Apache out there, including
the one published by Joe's company (was C2Net, now Redhat). Free stuff is
available thru mod_ssl or ApacheSSL.
