Don't know much more. Have heard lots of anecdotal evidence on this,
but don't know any concrete examples. If I recall correctish, it had
to do with bad NFS implementations, not with some technical
incompatibility between CVS and a theoretically perfect NFS. CVS just
tended to stimulate problems in certain NFS's.

I do know that many places run CVS over NFS (both purely local mode
and the CVS server side) and don't have problems.

There are other posts there that talk about interaction between CVS,
NFS, and /tmp under SunOS, but I don't think those situations really
apply to us.
