Re: collected vs distributed working copy metadata

I think I come down on the side of medata in each directory. I know
this occasionally causes problems with evil build systems like emacs
which tar up source directories and glomph them into the target, but I
like the fact that subdirs of working directories are independent and
structured equivalently to the whole working directory.
