Hi and a question

Hi,

as this seems to be the usual way for this mailing list I want
to introduce myself shortly.

I am a CS grad student and an active CVS user. Recently I have
become a Python developer. I am studying and researching in the
areas of Artificial Intelligence and Implementation of
Programming Languages.

If my time permits I would like to contribute some bits to
subversion as I feel that CVS - though being a great tool -
is flawed (mis-featured) in some respects.

Agreeing to most of the specification on a first read the,
design rationale for making version numbers per-commit
instead of per-file is not clear to me. I would appreciate
if someone could give me a hint or a pointer to some
reading on this one.

greetings,
Peter
