Greg, I respect you, but these are all red herrings for this discussion.
I've seen plenty of FreeBSD ports require gmake (and install it gracefully
if it wasn't already there), and if a BSD'er really wants a bmake
equivalent they're welcome to help us remove any gmake dependency. If it
saves us time right now, I don't see why not to do it.
