Which documentation? I always thought that the official subversion book, free, online, is one of the best documented open source projects around:-

(Why do you need PHP? Is that for websvn? There are other options...)

What exactly is your problem? You are asking such a general question is is hard to know where to start...

Did you know there are "one click" style installers that will setup lots of this for you (search for bitnami or wandisco amongst others)? There are companies that will sell you enterprise support but also provide free downloads (wandisco et al).

Perhaps you can give us more detail on you are trying to achieve, what you have tried and what the problems are?
