error while replaying commit

I've synched my repository for years, it contains over 4500 revisions
now but suddenly synching stopped at an earlyer rev with the following
errormessage:

svnsync: Error while replaying commit

As you cannot find ANYTHING on the net resolving this issue I'm asking
if anyone knows what the problem MIGHT be so I can resolve it myself.
