Our IT guys use something called "Panda" for virus scanning. That being
said, it has been running on the machine in question for the better part
of a year, and this error only cropped up within the last few weeks.
Perhaps Panda's behavior changed as part of an upgrade? Otherwise it's a
very quiet machine.

I am particularly curious about the phrasing of the error: Can't "check
path" I'm not familiar with that phrase outside the context of svn. I
wonder exactly what "check path" means.
