svnsync slave - read only - now and forever?

As I understand it, the slave server must remain read-only, because as soon as any change is committed to the slave, it cannot follow the master anymore.

Is there anything I'm missing? Is there any plan to ever change this?

I have some users who would like to two-way live replicate a pair of server mirrors. So users at both sites could have LAN speeds and reliability.
