Forward username from proxy

Is there a way to setup an Apache proxy such that it forwards the username
to the remote server?

I'm trying to configure a Subversion Write-Through Proxy setup and I want
the user to authenticate to the Slave, but I'd prefer the user did not
have to authenticate to the Master. The Slave server should already have
the username that was used to authenticate to it, so is there someway to
just pass that username to the Master?
