svn: Mergeinfo for '.' maps to an empty revision range

Hi,

I get this error in one of our branches when I try to run 'svn log -g',
or when I try to merge that branch into another. I'm using svn 1.5.6 on
the client (the server is still running 1.5.2).

I see that this has been raised as issue #3312
(http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3312), and has been
discussed before on this mailing list
(http://subversion.tigris.org/ds/viewMessage.do?dsForumId=1065&dsMessage
Id=98178 for instance.) However, from the CHANGES file it looks like
#3312 was fixed in 1.5.5, and I'm still getting the error in 1.5.6 (my
understanding from the mailing list was that the fix was on the client,
not on the server; see
http://subversion.tigris.org/ds/viewMessage.do?dsForumId=1065&dsMessageI
d=94117)

The mergeinfo for one of the folders it complains about looks like this:

/branches/2009/R1/AppSupport_BAU/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Prope
rties:647624-648453
/branches/2009/R1/AppSupport_Planned1/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/
Properties:647625-648368
/branches/2009/R1/BAUAppSupport/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Proper
ties:647619-647623
/branches/2009/R1/BondSTPPhase3/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Proper
ties:514780-514864
/branches/2009/R1/Combined/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Properties:
514864-647312
/branches/2009/R1/PlannedAppSupport1/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/P
roperties:647620-647624
/branches/PVCSImport/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Properties:575540
-647168
/trunk/Code/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Properties:10-512757
/trunk/MyCompany/Company.Web/APPLICATION/Properties:514761-575539,647169
-647191

This all looks valid as I understand it. Some of the branches that this
refers to have since been deleted though, although I wouldn't have
though that this should cause any problems.

Has anyone else come across the same problem? If so, are there any
fixes/workarounds?

Thanks,
Nick
