svn client memory usage (leakage?)

Hi all,

During some performance testing on our subversion server I
performed a HUGE checkout (repository top level checkout
including all branches and tags) using the 1.5.6 command
line client from CollabNet and noticed what looks like a
memory leak in the svn client. Simply put: my machine ran
out of memory. (I got some really interesting diagnostic
messages as a result)

Is there something in the svn client application that
allocates memory for each checked out file/directory?

I tried the same checkout again and tried to cancel it
(ctrl-C) after a couple of minutes and the rate of memory
consumption increased by a significant factor.

Can someone "in the know" explain this behavior? I don't
think this would be noticeable for any normal kind of
operation.

Regards
/Daniel Widenfalk
