RE: Setup SVN on Windows XP

I would like to configure using the zip file. I have noticed in that in
different parts of the book, there are mentions of installation
configurations. I am concerned that I may miss something. Is there a
consolidated list of steps to take for this configuration?

The changes in 1.5.4 are as mentioned here
http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/tags/1.5.4/CHANGES

Installer for 1.5.4 is not available though its been long since it was
released.

Configuring zip file is not that difficult; it can be done the way you
have mentioned; you are not missing any thing; you will need to
configure apache to use the modules from Subversion 1.5.
Please ensure you remove the older versions of Subversion from your
system.

You can revert back to list in case you face any issues while
configuring same.

Vishwajeet,

Thank you for your reply. The link is for SVN version 1.5.3, the
website says that 1.5.4 is the 'best'. Is there not an installer for
1.5.4?

What might I be missing by using 1.5.3?

Is there a simple procedure to use the 1.5.4 zip file and configure by
hand?

http://subversion.tigris.org/files/documents/15/44049/Setup-Subversion-1
.5.3.msi

This installer contains modules for Apache 2.0 as well as Apache 2.2

I would like to setup SVN on Windows using Apache 2.2. I have Apache
working. I am not sure if SVN is right.

The books says to get the installation files for the server but I am
not sure which ones:
The book points to
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100.

This is a zip file. The book states "The site usually contains
graphical installer packages for users of Microsoft operating systems"
which I did not find.

If I go to
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?expandFolde...
74&folderID=91> ,
there is an msi file but it says it is good for Apache 2.0 and not
good for Apache 2.2.

The most I can tell so far is to copy the zip contents to a folder and
then add a line to the environment variable "path" that points to the
SVN binary folder.

Is that it or am I missing something?

Thanks,

 Ray
