Hmm, of course, trying to produce this highlights the real issue:

Trying to commit a working copy in the following state:

A + tags\1.0.0
M + tags\1.0.0\package\version.txt

...with TortoiseSVN fails with the error I first reported.
Furthermore, it also damages the checkout such that the only thing to do
is "svn rm --force tags\1.0.0" and start again.

Anyone else experienced that with Tortoise? Where should I report the
Tortoise issue?
