svnadmin verify - Inconsistent Operation

I have a server running subversion 1.5.2 (r32768). SVN has been compiled from source with the latest Apache libraries. I am attempting to set up a sync between two servers and would like to be able to verify the master server's content each night by using svnadmin verify.

When I run svnadmin verify, the command seems to stop at different revisions each time it runs and present a Checksum error. The places at which the verify stops seem to be very inconsistent - verify will stop at revision 700 during one run, and then stop at revision 300 on the next run, then it will proceed to revision 1500 and stop with a checksum error.

The repository has approximately 14000 revisions.

What would cause this type of behavior in svnadmin verify?
