One of the reasons we haven't done a poll is the asymmetrical
consequences of reply-to munging.

When reply-to is munged, the result can be disastrous: a mail intended
to be private ends up on a public list. People have lost their jobs
over stuff like this.

Whereas when it is not munged, the result is merely annoying: sometimes
people have to resend a mail because they didn't CC the list (and as a
bonus, maybe they learn to use the follow-up key in their mailreader).

Thus, in a poll, those who vote against reply-to munging are trying to
avoid serious disasters, whereas those who vote for it are merely trying
to avoid a mild annoyance. There may be some democratic mechanism for
taking into account the different weights of possible consequences, but
I admit I am too lazy to discover such a mechanism.

Instead, I await the day when this problem is solved the way it SHOULD
be solved -- technically, via a per-subscriber configuration option:
