Help with SVN error please

Subversion server in Linux...

To make a long story short, I had to change usernames and userids, from say,
User1 to User2, but User1 and User2 belong to same group. I checked in all
my work as User1 before the change.

Now when I try to svn update as User2, I get the following.

Can't open file "//resps/branches/gh70n/format' Permission denied

What can I do as svn admin so User2 can keep working with User1's files?
