Folders Missing from .svn folder

Greetings,

I got a call today from a user that was having trouble doing update or
commit on some working copy she had. I went down to her desk and
found a situation where many of the .svn subfolders inside several
different working copies were missing their subfolders. For example

C:\Working\WC1\.svn <- contains no subfolders
C:\Working\WC2\.svn <- is missing the tmp folder
etc

She has several working copies checked out into "C:\Working" using
tortoiseSVN as the client, and all the working copies seem to be
corrupted. It acts like someone went in and "removed" these folders,
very wierd, she would not have known how to do this if she watned to.

Just looking for somewhere to start looking.

thanks
troy
